Dr. Peter J. Violette graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry in 1986.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association and has been practicing in Wakefield since 1989.  Dr. Violette's office provides a full scope of optometric services including contact lenses, glasses, treatment of eye infections and dry eye, and co-management of laser surgery and cataract surgery.
 
Dr Violette was born and raised in northern Maine.  He received a B.A. from Hofstra University before attending New England College of Optometry.  He worked in Augusta Maine for a year in a contact lens practice before returning to Massachusetts and working in Wellesley and Cambridge for Harvard Community Health Plan.
 
The Wakefield practice was originally started by Dr. Sal Lazzaro until Dr. Keith Thompson purchased it in 1981.  The practice was then
purchased in 1989 from Dr. Thompson by Dr. Violette.
 
 
 
Dr Kara Feldberg, Optometrist
 
Dr .Kara Feldberg graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2007.  She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire in 2003.  Dr Feldberg has experience in low vision, contact lenses and eye health examinations.
 
Dr Feldberg grew up outside of New Haven, Connecticut and now resides in Wakefield.  Aside from practicing optometry, Dr Feldberg enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog.

 

Patrick Langone, RDO - Master Optician

Patrick Langone has been a distinguished member of the ophthalmic community for over 35 years. In 1973, he established The Optical House in the town of Wakefield. Pat and his staff now serve over 10,000 patients throughout Massachusetts and New England as well as many international pediatric ophthalmic patients. Pat is an ABO certified optician and received the Master Optician designation in 1980. 

 
Pat became a member of Opticians Association Of Massachusetts in 1975 and throughout the years has served the organization in a variety of capacities. He was a member of the Board of Directors for over 20 years and served as President for two years. While on the Board of Directors of OAM, he was recognized for his contributions by being honored with the President’s Award. He was selected as the Optician of the Year and has received the Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to his contributions to OAM, Pat also served as President of the Massachusetts Independent Licensed Opticians organization (MILO). 
 
Not only has Pat been involved in the optical industry at the state level, but he has also been active at the national level. He has been a member of the Optician’s Association of America (OAA) since 1977 and served as President. He was also on the Board of Directors of OAA, was Chairman of the Guild of Prescription Opticians of America and was named Guild Optician of the Year in 1997.  
 
Pat was a member of the Board of Directors for Tissue Banks International and was recognized for his involvement and commitment was presented with the Sight for All Award. He was also a member, and Chairman, of the Better Vision Institute, a division of The Vision Council in Washington, D.C. Currently, Pat serves on The Vision Council’s Public Affairs & Advocacy Committee.
 
Pat’s other international experience includes being presented with the Maestro Ottico (Master Optician) designation from the Italian Opticians Society in 2000.
 
As an ABO certified Instructor, he has taught at both Newbury College and Mt. Ida College in the Optical Departments. In his local communities, Pat has been active in the Lions Club and served as Chairman of his town’s Finance Committee.
